Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, announced that he has received official confirmation that Jean Pascal and promoter Yvon Michael have agreed, on terms, for the highly anticipated rematch with Bernard Hopkins on May 21.

With Hopkins and Golden Boy already signed, all that remains to finalize the WBC light heavyweight title fight is a venue.

“I hope to settle on a site this week,” Schaefer said to RING. “…It looks like it’s going to be in Canada, most likely either Montreal or Quebec City. There’s an outside chance it could be in Los Angeles or Atlantic City, NJ.”

Pascal (26-1-1, 16 KOs) and Hopkins (51-5-2, 32 KOs) have been ordered by the WBC to engage in an immediate rematch, after their first bout ended in a controversial majority draw on Dec. 18.
